Steven H. Schechter, M.D.
Neurology
Steven Schechter, M.D., is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology.
A graduate of the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University in 1987, Dr. Schechter completed an internal medicine internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He then completed neurology residencies at the Detroit Medical Center and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Dr. Schechter is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School. He is actively involved in teaching and clinical research.
His clinical interests include Movement Disorders, MS, Stroke, Epilepsy, Headache and general neurology.
He has recently authored the 3rd edition of a text, Parkinson’s Disease: A Patient Guide.
Dr. Schechter is a health and fitness advocate and enjoys biking and yoga. He is on staff at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills.
